OPC Head Office Ives Rd Altona NthCorporate/Divisional Milestones

OPC commenced trading as a Company in 1998 when Phil Dent, after 20 years practical experience in all facets of the Australian Offshore Oil & Gas Exploration Industry, decided to branch out on his own and develop a company that would ultimately provide an all encompassing Support Service to Australian Oil /Gas Explorers/Producers.

Container Division

The initial activities of the fledgling company were centred around the design, manufacture and supply of Offshore Containers

Jun 1998 - Manufacture and supply the FIRST EVER in Australia offshore Container to DNV Certification 2.7-1
Jun 1998 - 80 tonne Vertical test Gantry commissioned at our Altona Site
Jul 2000 - 100th DNV Certified container supplied to the Industry
May 2002 - Applied for NATA Accreditation(s) ISO/IEC 17025 Mechanical testing and ISO/IEC 17020 Inspection Activities
Apr 2004 - 300th DNV Certified Container supplied to the industry
Jan 2006 - 50th design Approval granted by DNV
Aug 2006 - 500th DNV Certified Container manufactured and supplied to the Industry
Jan 2008 - Fabrication of Mud Pump Skid for International Sea Drilling
Sep 2008 - Design & Manufacture for Bootlocker (OPC 6000) for Esso Australia
Oct 2009 - Design & Manufacture Combination Laundry Bootroom (OPC 6003) for PSN Australia
Dec 2009 - Expanded into new premises in Altona North
Jan 2010 - Manufacture Sea Water Air Lift Baskets
Mar 2010 - Design & Manufacture Garnet Hopper & Frame combinations
May 2010 - OPC gained "Australian Made" approval
Sep 2010 - 900th DNV Certified Container manufactured and supplied to the industry.

Rigging Division

In line with the almost immediate success of the Container Division, the natural progression was to develop a rigging Division that not only supplied the lifting sets to our Company owned equipment, but also met the ancillary rigging needs of our Container Division clients.

May - 2003 Supply and Installation of 150 Tonne Horizontal Test Bed
May - 2003 First OPC Rigging Division Lifting Sets supplied
Mar - 2004 500th Certified Sling Set manufactured for supply
Jul - 2005 50 Tonne Portable Load Cell introduced
May - 2006 1000th Certified Sling Set manufactured for supply
Jan - 2007 OPC make significant advances to have all lifting equipment certified to DNV2.7-1 standards. On target to "lead the field" in this achievement
Jul 2008 - 220 tonne of Water Weight Bags introduced
Mar 2009 - 400 tonne Horizontal Test Bed commissioned
May 2010 - OPC achieves Self Certification for Lifting Equipment certified to DNV 2.7-1 Standards

Supply Bases

As a result of requests from our existing client base, OPC made the commitment to our clients to extend our services to include the provision of Supply Base facilities.

Jan 2004 - OPC Supply base commissioned at 27, 28 & 29 South Wharf, Port Melbourne, Victoria
Mar 2004 - OPC entered into agreement with origin Energy resources Ltd to provide Supply Base Services for the "Yolla" Joint Venture
Sep 2004 - OPC entered into 6 month agreement with Apache energy to provide Supply Base Services
Apr 2005 - OPC enters into agreement with Upstream Petroleum / Anzon/nexus to provide Supply base Services to the "Basker-mantra" Drilling program
May 2005 - OPC successfully completes "Yolla" Program
Oct 2006 - OPC successfully completes the "Basker-Mantra" Drilling Program
Dec 2006 - OPC has the "Basker-mantra" agreement extended to include all production requirements

Barry Beach, Victoria

As it became clear that our predominant area of involvement was in the Gippsland / Bass Strait Oil and Gas fields, the decision was made to increase our exposure and facilities to that region.

Significant Projects at Barry Beach include:-

May 2003 - 3.5 hectare property purchased at Barry Beach, Victoria, opposite Esso Barry Beach Marine Terminal.
Jul 2003 - Refurbished and re-equipped Engineering Workshop at Barry Beach Supply Base
Jan 2004 - Yard levelling, sandblasting area and office accommodation completed
Oct 2005 - Washdown bay for Pipe Inspection / Cleaning completed
Oct 2006 - Mobilise Nabors Rig 175 from New Zealand and Houston for erection and testing at OPC Barry Beach site, prior to handover to Esso
Jul 2007 - Demobilise Nabors Rig 453
Sep 2007 - Fabricate A-Frame for Pacific Protector
Dec 2007 - Modifications to Nabors Rig 175, including new exhaust Suit case for Generator package
May 2008 - 75T Crawler Crane purchased for onsite work
Mar 2009 - Commissioning of 150T Horizontal Test Bed
Jun 2009 - PSN Ballast Weight Fabrication Project
Jan 2010 - Pipe Storage Shed added to facility to better protect Customer's stored assets

Transport & Projects Division

Significant projects include:-

1998 - 2010 - Over 60,000 tonnes of over-dimensional reels of conveyor belting transported (without incident) to remote mining and exploration sites around Australia
May 2005 - Successfully completed transport, Logistics and Supply base services for the laying of the Basslink Cable for Pirelli
2004 - 2005 - Under Origin Energy Resources Ltd "Yolla" Joint Venture completed all transport requirements including multiple "hot shots", in full / on time, Australia wide
Nov 2005 - Purchased DAF Cab & Chassis vehicle specifically designed to accommodate the needs of Hot Shots for the Oil & Gas Industry & Dangerous Goods
Jun 2006 - OPC mobilises Rig 647 from Dampier, WA to OPC Supply Base, Melbourne and forwards to Port Taranaki, New Zealand on chartered vessel
Sep 2006 - Purchased double drop deck semi trailer specifically designed for transportation of heavy lifts for the industry
Oct 2006 - In full/on time outcome achieved on transport requirements for Basker-Mantra Drilling program Australia wide
Oct 2006 - Successfully completed the mobilisation via Vessel sole charter (2 voyages), of Rig 175, Port Taranaki, NZ to Esso BBMT at Barry Beach, Victoria
Nov 2006 - Mobilised ancillary equipment via Vessel sole charter for Rig 175 from Nabors Houston to Esso BBMT
